Authorities are investigating the disappearance of Naphatsorn Plerphukiao, also known as Namtan, who vanished on May 1 while traveling from Bangkok to Pattaya. CCTV footage captured the teenager entering an orange taxi shortly after midnight, having left her dormitory in the Rangsit area of Pathum Thani.

According to her father, Boonlert Plerphukiao, Namtan was staying in Pathum Thani for an internship and did not take any identification or personal belongings with her—only her mobile phone. She was last tracked to Bangkok’s Rama 3 area, but the reason for her journey remains unknown.

Data from the ride-hailing app indicated she had booked another trip from Rama 3 to Pattaya’s Walking Street, but the ride was cancelled midway. Investigators believe she may have disappeared in Chachoengsao province, located along the route between Bangkok and Pattaya.
Her family filed a missing person report at Chulalongkorn Pratunam Police Station and have since turned to the public for help, providing contact numbers for anyone with information. Speculation has emerged on social media about potential family disputes, but no further details have been confirmed.
In a similar case reported by The Thaiger, a 16-year-old girl who had been missing for three months was located in November at a bar on Pattaya’s Walking Street, where she was found working despite being underage.

Officials mentioned in the case include Namtan’s father, who traveled from Udon Thani to seek media assistance, and her family members who are coordinating search efforts online.
